Peer Review Process

The Vietnam Journal of Artificial Intelligence (VJAI) is committed to ensuring the quality, integrity, and scientific rigor of all published research through a fair, transparent, and independent peer review process.

Review Model

VJAI employs a single-blind peer review model in which reviewers know the identities of the authors, while authors do not know the identities of reviewers.

All manuscripts submitted to the journal undergo editorial assessment and peer review before any publication decision is made.

Initial Editorial Screening

Upon submission, manuscripts are evaluated by the Editorial Office and Editors to determine whether they:

  • Fall within the aims and scope of the journal;
  • Meet basic quality and formatting requirements;
  • Comply with the journal's ethical and publication policies;
  • Demonstrate sufficient originality and scholarly merit for external review.

Submissions may also be screened for textual similarity using plagiarism detection software.

Manuscripts that do not satisfy these requirements may be rejected without external review.

External Peer Review

Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are assigned to at least two independent reviewers with relevant expertise in the subject area.

Reviewers are asked to evaluate:

  • Originality and novelty;
  • Scientific and technical quality;
  • Methodological rigor;
  • Clarity of presentation;
  • Validity of results and conclusions;
  • Relevance to the journal's scope and readership.

Reviewers provide recommendations and constructive comments to assist editors in making informed decisions.

Editorial Decision

Based on reviewer reports and editorial assessment, a manuscript may receive one of the following decisions:

  • Accept;
  • Minor Revision;
  • Major Revision;
  • Reject.

Editors may request one or more rounds of revision where necessary.

The final publication decision rests with the Editor-in-Chief and the Editorial Board.

Conflicts of Interest

Editors and reviewers are expected to disclose any conflicts of interest that could influence their evaluation of a manuscript.

Individuals with significant conflicts of interest will not participate in the review or editorial decision-making process.

Confidentiality

All submitted manuscripts are treated as confidential documents.

Editors and reviewers must not disclose, distribute, or use unpublished information obtained through the peer review process for personal or professional advantage.

Commitment to Research Integrity

VJAI is committed to maintaining the highest standards of scholarly publishing and ethical review. The journal seeks to ensure that all editorial decisions are based solely on scientific merit, originality, and relevance to the advancement of knowledge in Artificial Intelligence and related disciplines.
