Publication Ethics

The Vietnam Journal of Artificial Intelligence (VJAI) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of publication ethics, research integrity, and responsible scholarly publishing. The journal follows internationally recognized principles of ethical publishing and is guided by the Core Practices of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). VJAI expects authors, reviewers, editors, and all participants in the publication process to uphold these standards and contribute to a fair, transparent, and trustworthy scholarly communication environment.

Responsibilities of Authors

Authors submitting manuscripts to VJAI must ensure that:

  • The submitted work is original and has not been previously published, except where appropriately disclosed;
  • The manuscript is not under consideration by another journal simultaneously;
  • All listed authors have made significant scholarly contributions to the work and have approved the submitted version;
  • Data, results, and conclusions are reported accurately and honestly;
  • Sources of funding and potential conflicts of interest are disclosed;
  • Appropriate acknowledgement is given to all sources and prior work.

Plagiarism, data fabrication, data falsification, image manipulation, duplicate publication, and other forms of research misconduct are strictly prohibited.

Responsibilities of Reviewers

Reviewers are expected to:

  • Provide objective, constructive, and timely evaluations;
  • Treat all submitted manuscripts as confidential documents;
  • Declare any conflicts of interest that may affect their impartiality;
  • Identify relevant published work that has not been cited;
  • Report suspected ethical concerns or research misconduct to the editorial office.

Responsibilities of Editors

Editors are responsible for:

  • Making editorial decisions based solely on scholarly merit;
  • Ensuring fair and unbiased peer review;
  • Maintaining confidentiality throughout the editorial process;
  • Managing conflicts of interest appropriately;
  • Taking reasonable steps to investigate allegations of misconduct.

Editorial decisions are based on originality, scientific quality, methodological rigor, relevance to the journal's scope, and clarity of presentation.

Research Integrity

VJAI supports responsible research practices and expects authors to comply with applicable ethical, legal, and institutional requirements.

Research involving human participants, personal data, surveys, interviews, or other sensitive information should have received appropriate ethical approval where required and must comply with relevant regulations and ethical standards.

Generative Artificial Intelligence

The use of generative AI tools must be disclosed when such tools have contributed to manuscript preparation, language editing, coding assistance, data analysis, or content generation.

Generative AI systems cannot be listed as authors because they cannot assume responsibility for the integrity, accuracy, or originality of scholarly work.

Authors remain fully responsible for all submitted content.

Corrections and Retractions

When significant errors, ethical concerns, or research misconduct are identified, VJAI may publish corrections, expressions of concern, or retractions as appropriate in order to maintain the integrity of the scholarly record.
